Twitter Notes was built by a small and dedicated team to expand Twitter beyond the 280-character limit. Writers would be able to create long-form content as they would with any other CMS common among journalists. Notes launched as an alpha to 140 writers with a goal to launch globally to all Twitter users.
Self-hosted AMP does not need to meet all of those requirements, it is possible to run any JavaScript you desire on your self-hosted AMP site. Therefore I created AMP+, a site that uses AMP as a framework and provides limited JS for certain functionality that is not AMP capable while still following as much of the AMP standard as possible to gain from its performance improvements.
As a demonstration for creating a mobile app based on the web properties of Digital Remedy. I developed a prototype using Cordova to essentially wrap the existing websites without the chrome of the web browser along with the advantages of notifications of new articles.
